Current Job Openings:

Web Developer/Sharepoint (contract/freelance)

The Lux Group is looking for a detail-oriented sharepoint developer to join our team to focus on Microsoft SharePoint technical tasks for some of our key clients. Candidates for this position will be is responsible for providing publishing and technical support to several of our clients’ intranets and extranets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Integration of web parts
  • Creation of page templates
  • Ability to customize SharePoint to move beyond "out-of-the-box"
  • Converting PhotoShop designs into SharePoint Pages
  • Page building, site testing and content management with an eye on quality and a willingness to collaborate with client and coworkers
  • Ability to offer creative solutions to the question, 'Can SharePoint do this?"
  • XML experience a plus

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Solid XHTML and CSS skills (hand coding) (3 – 5 years experience)
  • Previous experience using SharePoint Portal Services technologies and SharePoint Team Sites
  • Experience using Photoshop or similar graphics software to crop, resize and optimize images for use on the Web.
  • Experience working with content contributors, editors, graphic designers and IT team members
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines, multi-task between projects and triage work requests based upon priority and complexity
  • Must be detail-oriented with a good eye for quality assurance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player

ASP.NET Developer (contract/freelance)

Candidates will offer support and change fulfillment for a wide variety of existing website projects as well as new projects under development. Browser-based applications include e-commerce sites, content management systems, business workflow management and intranet portals. The primary development technologies include ASP.NET 1.x and 2.0, SQL Server, and XML.

This position is a part-time, contract position available in January 2007.

Experience Required:

  • 4+ years experience programming ASP.NET 1.x and 2.0 using either Visual Basic or C#. Familiarity with both languages is preferred.
  • Significant experience building and designing secure database solutions for high-end browser-based business tools. Experience developing SQL Server databases (SQL Server 2005 is desired).
  • Experience working with XML, including schemas, XPath, and transformations.
  • Strong background with HTML / XHTML and CSS.
  • Ability to write clean, documented code
  • Strong verbal/written communication and team collaboration skills.

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience applying sound development standards and practices such as source control, versioning, bug tracking, and unit testing.
  • Experience extending third-party components such as shopping carts, content management systems, and online community tools.
  • SharePoint implementation and/or custom development experience.
  • AJAX / Atlas implementation experience.
  • Experience consuming or writing web services.
  • Working onsite at our Seattle office location is preferred

Information Architect (contract/freelance)

Candidates will have 2-4 years experience working with web based projects.

This contract position will require approximately 20-30 hours per week with a good portion of the work to be done onsite at Lux’s Seattle office.

Responsibilities will include conducting or creating:

  • Content Audits
  • Wire frames and site maps
  • Task-flow diagrams
  • User experience analysis
  • Personae
  • Site taxonomies

Qualified applicants will have experience with the following:

  • Office productivity software
  • Wire framing tools such as Visio
  • Creative and technical project documentation
  • Collaboration with project managers, graphic designers, content writers/editors, and developers
  • Communicating IA related concepts and ideas
  • Negotiating with team members and project stakeholders
